Grandma Chubby's Stuff

I hope you enjoy my postings. My husband and I are serving a mission in Romania and have had some wonderful adventures. Each of us have experiences in our life that make us different from that time forth. These experiences have done that for us.

Sora Ashby visits new Granddaughter in Seattle

This is little Juliana Lenore Ashby....as you can imagine, I not only think she is adorable, I love her name. I have spent 12 days in Seattle helping the new parents while waiting for my other doctor appointments in Utah. This is been a great privilege for me. Nothing is more precious than a new little member of your family. I have to admit that I am feeling antsy to get back to Romania and get on with my missionary work. I also miss my husband! Transfer week took place this past week and I did not say good-bye to our graduating missionaries. However, they are in my heart and I will always hold them close. Posted by Picasa

Elder Klenk gives Sora Ashby roses for the last time!

We met Elder Klenk when he first came on his mission in March of 2004. He was sent to Brasov and was in our District. From the very first he has always brought me flowers! It is a custom to give flowers in Romania and I love that custom but Elder Klenk has gone way past anything customary. The second week of January is his last week on his mission. Since I am leaving this week I will not see him again! He gave me this last bouquet of flowers and a hug good-bye on New Year's eve. Of course I am quite attached to him and will miss him. He has given me flowers at zone conferences, District meetings, birthdays, interviews, etc. No, I don't expect it from all my missionaries and I love them all but, this was something he started from the beginning or his mission and I will not only remember him for the wonderful missionary he has been but for his thoughtfulness and kindness to me! He will one day make some girl very happy! Posted by Picasa
