Red sky at night...sailors delight!

Last Saturday we left early in the morning to travel to Timisoara and, just our luck, the car broke down in the mountains and we ended up spending about 3 hours trying to find a place to repair the car. We ended up leaving it in a little town and renting a car. The only problem was it took the rental company an hour and a half to bring the car up from Pitesti. It was hot and when the car got there it wasn't much bigger than an egg! By the time we got all our stuff in there for the zones there was no room for me. I ended up holding boxes on my lap and we drove that way for another 6 hours. But, as these photos show, we did make it to Timisoara and then onto Arad. The cities are beautiful and we never tire of this beautiful country.
Actually, we have all been hoping fo a little "red sky in the morning" just in case it would relieve the intense heat we have been having! We have had temperatures as high as 114 F. and with the humidity here that has not been fun!

Dr. and Sister Gardner visit the Mission

This past week has been a whirlwind with three zone conferences held within four days. We did this to make it easy on the Gardners! Dr. Gardner is our doctor from Germany and he and his wife gave our missionaries a two hour lecture on how to keep themselves healthy. They were a lot of fun and really gave us some good information. We are really concerned about the health and well-being of our missionaries and Dr. Gardner assured everyone that he is ready to talk to anyone, at any time who may need him. As you can see by these photos, Sister Gardner insisted the elders know how to use their elastic bands and get a good workout in the process! Elder Bringhurst really put his heart into this effort!
